received strange emails - scam email?

Answered

These emails must be fake as the numbers don't correspond, and also the email address is not a Telsta one. (notifications.in.telstra@h3v8v.com.au)

Is anyone doing anything to track these people down?

Re: received strange emails - scam email?

It is not even a real domain name. h3v8v.com.au is not registered, so it is definitely a scam. Best thing you can do is report is to scamwatch.gov.au

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
