From 29 June 2015, we’re closing the mobile site mobiletv.telstra.com, but you can still watch Mobile Foxtel via the updated Android or iOS app. Here's what you need to know.

What’s happening to Mobile Foxtel from 29 June 2015?

 

Currently, you can watch Mobile Foxtel from the mobile site mobiletv.telstra.com and the Android or iOS app. From 29 June 2015, we’re closing the mobile site and you’ll only be able to watch Mobile Foxtel via the updated Android or iOS app.

 

Why are you making this change?

 

With the increase in smartphone use we’re closing the mobile site in order to focus on the Android and iOS Mobile Foxtel apps.

 

Can I download the Mobile Foxtel app now instead of using the mobile site?

 

Yes, provided you have a compatible device and Operating System.

You can update your app via Google Play or iTunes. Otherwise, the next time you open the app in June we will update it automatically for you, provided you have a compatible Operating System. We hope you enjoy the improved experience.

 

How will I be informed about this change?

 

If we think you’ll be affected by the closure of the mobile site, we’ll notify you via SMS.

 

I want to continue watching Mobile Foxtel after the mobile site closes. What do I need to do?

 

After 29 June 2015 you will need a compatible device and the updated Android or iOS app installed to continue watching Mobile Foxtel. You’ll need a Google account or Apple ID to download the app. If you don’t have one, you can create a new one from Google Play or iTunes.

Once you’ve created an account you can manually open the store, search for ‘Mobile Foxtel’ and install the app.

 

Is the Mobile Foxtel app free to download?

 

Yes, the app is free to download on Google Play and iTunes, however data charges may apply. We recommend you download while connected to Wi-Fi.

 

Should I use the Mobile Foxtel app on my Wi-Fi connection or my mobile 3G/4G network?

 

When using the app, you must be using our 3G/4G mobile network, however, use of the app is unmetered, so it doesn’t impact your data allowance. The app doesn’t work when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

I have an Telstra iPhone but my iPad is wwifi only. I would like to use Foxtel mobile on the iPad but cannot access it even when tethered.

Today received a text saying the Mobile Foxtel will finish. Telstra suggest we subscribe to Presto. Presto is not a live streaming service so how can I watch Live Sky Business and Sky News? Not only is Presto more expensive, but now data charges apply. Foxtel is not going out of business so why stop the service? This is all just a money grab by Telstra.

I can not enter my Foxtel account, which I pay through Telstra. He tells me that the account does not exist.

And I am more than 10 years 5 years who are your customer for foxtel too. By now Telstra is becoming a hub where nothing works and no one !!! Really bad for a Company that was first a flagship for Australia.
