Can anyone tell me how to put a call on hold on my 502 phone. Also how to go back to it. Thank you.

From page 20 you can find options to mute and unmute your microphone (essentially putting the other party on hold, as they're unable to hear you) as well as initiate a group call and toggle between callers.
