Telstra TV can no longer connect to the internet

Answered

I got Telstra TV 6 months ago and haven't had an issue, yesterday I tried to access the nba app and it kept crashing. Tried all the various troubleshooting fixes and now I can't even connect to the internet. It picks up my modem but won't connect.

Plugged it in via Ethernet and it was connected but apps fail upon launch and then freeze if you try yo access them again, any help would be great.

Re: Telstra TV can no longer connect to the internet

There are two things you could try.

1. Disable band steering in the modem's 2.4 GHz WiFi settings by removing tick next to enable band steering and saving settings. This adds -5G to the 5GHz SSID.

2.. Select a non Telstra IPv4 and IPv6 DNS  in the modems Advanced > Local Network settings. Change both DNS 1 and DNS 2.

@Therealajk Strange that the ethernet connection didn't fix it.

I suggest you do a factory reset.

Factory resetting your device will restart your device to the factory settings. This will not cancel any app subscriptions but you will have to sign back in. A factory reset will update your software and apps to the latest version.

  1. In the Telstra TV menu select Settings
  2. Select System
  3. Select Advanced system settings
  4. Select Factory reset
  5. Enter the 4-digit code shown on your TV screen
  6. Press OK.

It after that it still has issues your TTV might be on the fritz, so call 13 22 00 and say "Telstra TV" to the bot lady, then "faults"

Tried it twice, guess I'm in for one of those delightful conversations.

@Therealajk Why would you restrict the data flow to the TTV in the first place?

Then the next question is "How were you restricting the bandwidth"?
