Telstra TV won't connect to the internet but does connect to my network

Answered

Connected Telstra TV and updated software (must have connected to the internet.

while finishing activation I get a screen saying your Telstra tv can connect to the network but cannot connect to the internet.

check your modem is still connected to the internet and try again.

i have bridged my Thompson modem to my apple time capsule and my internet works fine on all my other devices.

i have tried pressing every button on the remote, disconnecting the power and even using the reset button but it remains locked on this screen.

any suggestions?

Hi Jase4,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues connecting your Telstra TV.

If you have reset your device isn't shouldn't lock itself to that screen it should start the activation process again from the start. You may need to hold the reset button in for around 10-15 seconds then reboot by unplugging the power cable and reconnecting.

Could you please try switching off the bridge and connecting the device directly to your Thompson modem, just to reduce the number of moving parts and troubleshoot where these issues are coming from.

Re: Telstra TV won't connect to the internet but does connect to my network

Hi 6095

There may be a few reasons for this happening if the internet is working for everything else connected to your modem.

First thing to try would be to leave your broadband modem off for a few minutes and then turn back on to refresh the connection.

Most modems have multiple wifi broadcasts. If yours does, try connecting to the other wifi network. If your modem is close to the Telstra TV then you can also try connecting directly via the Ethernet cable.

If those also fail to connect, then you can run through defaulting your Telstra TV in the link below.
