Number porting not active even after 38 hours

I submitted a request to port my number from Optus to Telstra prepaid on 28th June but I am still waiting. and with out a phone service. Optus have already released my number and disabled my old SIM. My telstra SIM has network but I cannot make calls/sms. It is really frustrating. Why does it take so long??? What do I do now as I am without a phone service. What if there is an emergency??

You should contact the pre paid department via Telstra Chat   https://www.telstra.com.au/chatnow/landing

or ring 132200 an say PrePaid
