Intro

Hi Everyone,

I'm only 2 weeks late introducing myself, but like they say better late than never Smiley Happy

My names Christopher, I have had previous experience in the Telco industry (ex Telstra employee) and have general knowledge in mobiles, bigpond and billing. Things has changed since I left Telstra so my knowledge may be a bit rusty Smiley Tongue

Crowd Support is great and I look forward to contributing more to the community and helping out where ever I can.

Over and out  Smiley Happy

Re: Introduction and Avatar Question

I see two options "From the Community" and "From Facebook" - or similar - but the Facebook gallery is empty. I just want to use my Facebook profile image as I do for other sites so I can update the image from one location and have this update reflected everywhere else.

Re: Introduce yourself to the community!

Hello Yannick and everyone else,

I'm new to CrowdSupport but a longstanding customer of Telstra from back in the day of analogue mobile telephony when devices resembled expensive bricks with buttons, capable of voice calls only.

Most of you probably don't even remember when Telstra Mobile was in fact called Telecom MobileNet, just before the transition to it's global name that we have now. I distinctly recall the customer service number being 018 018 111 before changing to 125 111. That's how long it's been. I'd be interested to see if any staff member was around back then or has any recollection of that era.

Now as technology advances here we are on the social media platform to which I'm no stranger, being a system and software developer myself, with roots in electronic engineering and radio telecommunications.

I'm a person who will always speak (or in this case, type) their mind and not hesitate to debate a point in a civil manner, whilst maintaining the integrity of applicable guidelines.

I wish your site all the very best and hope to derive some enjoyable interaction with your many members and staff as well as acquire some valuable knowledge in relation to your ever-progressing services.

Cheers!

Kind regards,

Hi Sam,

Welcome to the community. A username does help other members to identify and acknowledge you but if you sign off with your name after each post, it shouldn't matter.

Also, let us know if you need a hand with anything down the track.

Enjoy your time in Crowdsupport.

My name is Kenny and I am newbie to the community.

I wanted to thank the Telstra Device Centre for their prompt action on fixing my Nokia 1020 battery drain and overheating issue under warrenty even though the battery warrenty is only 6 months. I have had the phone for 15 months and noticed the issue a few months ago.

I received the phone back after within 3 days after it was receiced by the TDC. I was able to use the phone 2 days without charge!

Re: Introduce yourself to the community!

My name is Iain.

I live beside the western shores of Lake Macquarie, NSW. I have five grandchildren already (13yo to 3yo) from my 32yo daughter and her husband ... and a sixth on the way from my 30yo son and his wife. Plenty to do as I retire very soon.

I like reading, trivia contests, card games and cinema.

My return to Telstra is recent and full of hope. I love the network coverage and, good news, customer service seems a lot better focused at the moment.

After three weeks being involved in these crowd support forums, I have finally discovered the "Introduce Yourself" page.

Cheers to all!

Re: Introduce yourself to the community!

Hi Irene62

You already have posted a message :-)

If you need help with your Telstra Account though - please don't post a message on CrowdSupport as it's a community forum rather than a way to contact Telstra for assistance with your service. For assistance with your service, please call us on 13 22 00, or use our Live Chat service here: http://tel.st/hsc3

If you'd like to go ahead and write a message, just go to http://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/ - and write in the box at the top of the page what you need a hand with. It'll bring up search results, and if none of the results match what you're asking about, click Ask the Community to start your own thread in the forum.
