I was actually very lucky. I was head hunted (afew times..) and left to sell cars!.

 

After doing that for a few months and calls from my manager and LAM I ended up coming back and taking on the roll. Was very pleased.

 

No SIM for me as of yet as there are no more this year but hopefully il be doing the course next year.

Hi All , 

 I am new to this style of forum ,so go easy.

My name is frank although I have been contributing to the Telstra website feedback recently to air my grievances and disappointment at lack of quality and correctness on the Telstra website.

Hi All,

 

My name is Ashley, but you may call me Ash, amazing, awesome, Lord and Master but please what ever you do please don't call me late for dinner (or for that matter Ashlee, Ashleigh, Ashie etc :-P)

 

I have been floating around the Telstra world for 3 years now, but I have only recently made the move into the Social Media team. I started off dealing mainly with fixed lines and mobiles (everything from arranging connections and finding out what has happened with a connection order to helping understand bills and getting billing issues fixed) and it is only in the past year or so that I have moved on to the lofty heights of BigPond and FOXTEL.

 

If you get a reply on Twitter or Facebook from Ash or Ashley chances are it is me. I am more than happy to help out where I can, but if I am doing my job properly you probably wont even see I am there (the invisibility cloak works wonders hehe)

 

Looking forward to speaking to everyone when I get a chance :-)

Hi all,

 

Just thought I'd write a little something with a sprinkle of disarming wit to introduce myself to you all.  And fail.  

 

I'm Justin, and I've spent the last 7 1/2 years in the mysterious land of Telstra.  I've stumbled through the turbulent nations of several Adelaidean Telstra stores, many different call centre roles (a moving home centre, and both mobile and fixed/broadband customer retention centres), a stint as an e-mail consultant , and the last (and best!) 11 months have been spent in the hotbed of loosely-controlled insanity that is our Social Media Team, handling customer enquiries on our Twitter, Facebook and Whirlpool accounts.  Which brings me here, in my vainglorious digital...er, glory.

 

Outside of the insanity of work, I prefer to finely hone the rest of my insanity through music (almost anything, I've developed ridiculously ecelctic tastes), photography, writing, and international espionage.  Also, for those who have at least a passing interest in sport, I support Port Adelaide in the AFL and Canberra in the NRL, so it's been a long year for me.  I'll accept all valid feedback about supporting said teams, as long as it's uniformly positive.  Smiley Wink

 

So, feel free to ask me anything Telstra-related - I'll answer wherever and whenever I can, and probably with less fluff than this post.  Anyone else who's able to help here when I can't will also have my undying love.  Or kudos.  Whichever.

I'm Matt and have been around the Telstra world for just over 2 years now but only in the Social media team for the last couple of months. Hey folks - from Sheeds/Strider/wpdownunder - a WP7 nut!

 

Just a not-so quick note to introduce myself,

 

Before I do - thanks to Stephen and theDylan for their PM's  - I used their post/link http://crowdsupport.telstra.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage/tab/inbox to get to them - as I just thought it was some Telstra prank to infuriate me by telling me I had PM's and never linking to the message centre lol.  All good.

 

Anyhow - my name is Sheeds/  I run www.sheeds.com.au which is THE website to visit in Australia for Windows Phone (WP7) info, news, help, etc etc.  I will soon be re-launching it from the hobby-site begun in only April this year to a new dedicated domain - www.wpdownunder.com 

 

I have been a vocal supporter and advocate for WP7 since it's launch last year - and have many contributions over at the Whirlpool forums - inclusing writing the initial WP7 Wiki, Importing one of the the first consumer Samsung Focus devices to Australia and more.  LINK to my profile: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/user/75390

 

In this capacity - I have also had an interesting roller-coaster ride with Telstra over WP7 - with many editorials on the Telstra WP7 experience to date.  I am a full-service Telstra customer, using their Complete ADSL2+ Home service, having mobile broadband with them and also home and business mobile services.

 

Earlier this year I was pleased to see (still could use some improvement!) that Telstra took up my idea (from their ideas/improvement site) to implement this page; http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile/phones/smartphones.html# - only 14 days or so after I started a campaign to support my initiative.

 

I am a Father of 3, living in the greatest city of Australia, Melbourne - self proclaimed tech-head, Carlton supporter and online gamer also (DODS).  I look forward to dropping by from time to time and am happy to take any WP7 feedback, questions etc here.

 

Also - without detracting from this new site (great idea btw given all the Whirlpool Telstra support etc) - here's some of the ways WP7 fans, Developers or owners may get value from my site:

The first intro, geez no pressure I say, as I clutch my notes in one hand...shaking at the podium. Smiley Tongue 

 

Name’s Greg (the 2nd). Yes, that’s right the second Greg on the Telstra Social Media scene. Much like Version 1.0 and my other colleagues, I have a general penchant for slightly oddball humour (go left of centre, then take the next left) and by that I also mean milking a joke far beyond use by date...and then some.

 

Oh, and I also really enjoy helping Telstra customers online. It’s a genuinely rewarding and satisfying job. I’m friendly, approachable and will look to make a positive forum contribution and assist wherever possible. Let me know if I can help you!

 

When not online, I enjoy my music (huge vinyl collection with many ‘tragic’ gems) and I also love to spend my annual leave traipsing off to all four corners of the globe - arriving someplace and then figuring out what to do when I get there. Firstly, my name is Renee!

 

So I'm a Gemini Metal Rooster.. bit of a conflicted show off at times and full of all that happy outgoing stuff! Smiley Wink

 

I enjoy Indie/Alt Rock music mainly and I have a soft spot for British accents.. might have something to do with the 2 years I spent in the UK prior to working with Telstra Smiley Happy

 

..But that's not why I am here! I am also one of the newest additions to the Telstra Social Media Team!

 

I have been with Telstra for almost four years, working within the BigPond phone (Inbound), Expression of Interest (Outbound), email (Inbound), complaints triage and now the wonderful Social Media space.

 

I've become an ickle bit of a specialist with complaints management and have dabbled in the fine art that is Floor Support and Team Leadership too.

 

A Telstra consumer, I am the proud owner of the Home (ADSL) Ultimate Bundle / Mobile Broadband and my lurverly HTC One XL (Go Android! Robot Happy

 

I run Ubuntu (Linux) on my home network, however, am no Linux expert! And whilst Telstra does not support Linux, if there is a passing general query, I'm happy to assist Smiley Happy

 

I've been playing with the likes of WordPress and IRC for over 10 years.. so definitely a geekette really who likes playing Volleyball and Tennis!

 

Anyways.. enough with the jibber jabber.. I'm here to assist as much as the other members of this team!

I dont actually, I dislike sand, it makes me itchy,

 

What I am obsessed with is Doctor Who (thanks for having a Dalek avatar!), Baseball (Go Cleveland Indians!) Depeche Mode (the greatest band ever IMO)  and all things nerd and geek.

 

I work in the provisioning escalations team and I am quite happy to help other staff out with anything involving provisioning escalations and the processes surrounding it so feel free to send me a PM about that or anything to do with Moby as I tend to be a bit of a guru (or is that pretend??) on that subject.

Okay so it took me a 9 days before I felt brave enough to write a welcome post.

Here I go.

 

Hi, I'm Tom. I work for Telstra in the Melbourne CBD.

I have been quite overly obsessed with Telstra since I was 9 and now that I am 20, it's just a bit of knowledge.

I am in Telstra's Customer Relations Team working to fix peoples problems and resolve their disputes.

Some of you I may have spoken to already as I used to resolve TIO queries about people's accounts and services and hopefully I can continue helping out where possible using Crowd Support.

 

I do work full time though so my replies may not be as fast as anticipated but hopefully I will try to answer any questions to the best of my ability and as promptly as possible.

 

When I'm not at work, I'm either online using social media or chilling out with friends.

I admit, I am a big movie freak as I used to manage a cinema which led to watching every blockbuster film that was released, the day it came out.

I tend to revolve my life around music and remix some of my favourite songs but honestly, I'm not as good as I think I am at that. Smiley Tongue

 

 

So pretty much to sum it all up,

I'm social, love a conversation, live for my music, know quite a bit about Telstra and would love it if I can help anyone at all.
