30 Second Ring Time and the Elderly

Why 30 second max ring time on a mobile? It seems to upset a lot of people so I can only assume its for the benefit of telstra and not the customers.  I have an elderly mother with early onset dementia and mobility problems. It can take far longer than 30 seconds for her to answer the phone. Is there anyway it can be extended?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: 30 Second Ring Time and the Elderly

No it can't be extended beyond 30 seconds.  It's the global norm for phone networks. I haven't seen a network where you can extend it beyond 30 seconds

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
