Camera Failed message on Galaxy S

Answered

Click to take picture and there is a long pause before the focus square goes red and it clicks like the photo is being taken, then a message appears Warning: Camera failed.

There is no problem with taking pictures with front camera or taking video with rear camera.

Not sure how long this has been a problem as initially could take photos with rear camera and haven't taken them recently.

Have tried the following:

* Turned off the GPS

* power cycled by turning off and on and removing the battery

* fully recharged

* deleted all photos and videos but  had plenty of room anyway to store

* removed all apps and updates to defaults from Market

* finally reset the phone back to factory settings (but this does not reset the operating system back to whatever was on it and Kies had upgraded to Froyo and then Gingerbread since purchase).

Have spent over 2 hours looking in Google as well.

What else can be done?

Thanks

Re: Camera Failed message on Galaxy S

Hello Donna,

Sounds like you've already tried everything so last thing I would recommend is to bring it into your local Telstra Store 'tech bar' and asked for it to be looked at.

It may need to be sent off for repairs or replaced if faulty as required.
