Dave - Unable to connect to server message

I have a new Dave phone and my account is Telstra, not Bigpond.

 

I have set up the email and can receive emails no problem but can not send them to any other destination other than our domain name.

 

The email account is set up for Outgoing settings:

 

SMPT server: mail.ourdomain.net

Port:  25

Security type:  none (makes no difference whther I use SSL/TLS or STARTTLS)

 

I can send emails with my domainname no problems but get the error message to emails with any other domain including my own gmail address

 

Any assistance would be appreciated

Hi,

 

As you are using the Telstra network when you are on your handset you'll need to use the Telstra outgoing email settings to send mail from the handset.

 

Please try the SMTP server : mail.bigpond.com

Thanks Matt, I had previously needed to use mail.telstra.com instead of my domain on the computer some years ago, and seeing that I have a Telstra and not a Bigpond account I had tried that again but not bigpond.  All good, thanks.
