Samsung GALAXY S 4

Hi i recently got a samsung galaxy s4 of a friend and they are complaining that the mobile data on the phone is not working, they claim to have set the carrier settings over to vodafone and have activated mobile data settings the issue is that the phone says that the mobile data service is un availble. This phone can make phone calls but also cant detect its one phone number from the sim card inside.

Hi,

 

I'm assuming that you've placed a Telstra SIM in the handset? You'll need to enter the Telstra APN settings to get data working on the handset. To do this you'll need to go to : Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > press menu and select New APN

 

Please complete the fields with the information below:

 

Name: telstra internet

APN: telstra.wap

MCC: 505

MNC: 01

APN type: default

 

Then hit menu and Save,

 

Please leave all the other fields blank. Then in the Access Point Names screen, make sure the green dot is next to the APN you just created.
