Accessory Repayment Option August 2020

I have recently upgraded a number of mobile plans across the business, I have noticed that a new charge "Accessory Repayment Option" has been added to the account - $15/month.

I have received any accessories and it has been applied across 4 of the accounts.

I rang the contact who set this up "Daniel"  and he tells me this is just how they are required to set the new phones up.  It doesnt seem right, what is this charge for?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Accessory Repayment Option August 2020

Hi PC71,

You have been double conned by "Daniel".

You're getting billed for Accessories you don't have.

An Accessory Repayment Option charge per month is for Accessories that a customer walks out of a Telstra store with instead of paying for them upfront.

This sort of behaviour has been going on for many year's now....although customer's usually get told that their Accessories are "free".

Just Google Telstra Accessory Repayment Option....this is just 1 link I came across.

https://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/mobile-plans-rates/accessory-repayment-option-what-do-i-get/t...

As you have already contacted "Daniel" to try and sort this out, the next step would be to put in a Complaint to Telstra.

I am NOT a Telstra employee and never have been. However, I AM a customer who volunteer's my time in the hope to help someone with their question.
