The IP address for my mobile data shows me as being in Victoria, when my physical location is Tasmania. This is problematic for things like Facebook, because I’m getting ads and notifications for things that are of no use or interest to me.
is there a way of changing my IP address to a more accurate location?

Re: accurate location
Check your location services settings in Facebook (and your other apps). It can use the location of your device in preference to the general location given by an IP address (which you can't choose).
Mind you, I'm located in Victoria, Facebook uses the GPS position that my phone gives it and I still get notifications and ads of things that are of no use or interest to me - that is all Facebook gives you in reality.
