eSIM Support
It has been over seven months since the XS series launched with dual SIM (eSIM/Nano) support. Even Optus has started supporting eSIM on iPhone XS for over a month. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209096 https://www.optus.com.au/shop/support/answer/esim-for-iphone-what-you-need-to-know?requestType=Norma... So what are you waiting for Telstra? You did "promise" that the service will be launched based on customer demand. I already see tonnes of posts on this and yet you taking your time on addressing what the customers are asking for.

Re: eSIM Support
If you immediately need a dual sim phone, you can buy a generic Samsung from JB HiFi who sell both Telstra (single sim) and generic (dual sim) phones. Also available in Samsung Experience stores and the official Samsung Australian website. Many Samsung phones offer generic dual sim.
The reason Optus may have possibly released the service is that they probably don't go into the technical and network operational depth that Telstra engineers do, and why sometimes they release updates first. Telstra engineering is very careful what goes on their network. I know, because that used to be my occupation for many years.
