iPhone 4S dead? already?!

Day one

 

No problems

 

Day Two


Near full bars "Telstra 3G", the 3G will then disappear, then the Telstra and then it will just display "Searching....."

 

Day Three

 

"Searching...." turned phone off/on, turned aeroplane mode on/off. Attempt to restore but but iTunes gives an unknown error (1) on both Mac and PC. Tried contacting Apple but no one appears to be there on the weekend and they dont state their opening times.....

 

Have put my new SIM in my old phone and its working fine.

 

IS this something Telstra can help me with or will i be redirected to Apple anyway?

If you got your phone off Telstra, you can go back to Telstra and they will have to deal with apple.

 

It could be faster just to drop into an apple store though.

Interesting.... I've been having similar issues, but it doesn't happen with my iPhone 4 (which seems to be a phone fault). I've personally wondered if the new antenna switching is causing this, but no official word as of yet.

Have you tried resetting the network settings on the phone?

Put into dfu mode and restore
Dfu= power off, then hold power button for 2 sec, then power and home for 10 then let go of the power and continue holding for 10
Nothing will come up on the screen, but iTunes will detect it

if you have a pin on your simcard, try turning it off. 

 

sometimes this fixes the problem.
