Iphone6 activation

Answered
Anyone else had issues getting iphone6 activated - have had same number with telstra for 20 years and used online activation - according to online chat they are waiting for my hardware to be delivered to me yet how else could I have had the numbers required for the activation?

online activation can take up to 24 hours. (which is listed on the activation page)

Spoke to Telstra on Friday after recieving my iphone delivery with new SIM that was to be ported over from current Telstra plan keeping same number. Originally told me 3 hours to activate. Then told me Friday night expect another 24 hours. Saturday night pushed to tech support and told me something wrong - order is still showing as incomplete. Monday told me pushed to level 3 tech support. Today they rang and told me could take another 3 days.

 

By the time they sort it I should be ready for iphone 7. I am sure they wouldnt accept the delay if I followed similar behaviour when i paid my bills. To me its very poor form to seel the phone if Telstra's integration process has failed.

im still waiting since last friday....and its now Tuesday afternoon....should I ring tech support as well? or wait?

@Angela_H I am also having a long wait for activation.  

 

I have an existing Telstra service that I've upgraded to the iPhone 6 with nano sim that both arrived yesterday.  I've used the instructions that came with the phone to activate online.

 

I have an SR number but it has been almost 24 hours and it is still not activated.  In the past it has only taken an hour or so 

 

The SR number is SR 1-284294659711.

 

Are you able to check it for me?

Have had it resolved with a fantastic 24x7 consultant, thank you for looking into it for me though, I checked with 24x7 because I wasn't sure if you were still monitoring this, thank you though.

 I'm waiting on the activation of the phone - received it yesterday and did the web activation (which is where that SR number was issued). So now just waiting for the sim to activate and switch over from my existing sim.  So currently I have my old iPhone (4S) and the new one sitting next to each other, the new one just shows SOS only and the old one still has a valid signal...

 

This should be under a business account.

 

Needless to say it's not very convenient having to carry around 2 phones just because you don't know when it's going to cut over...

Just spoke to Telstra tech support and seems someone is now looking at it but I have to wait another 24 hours. They told me the same story as 6 days back ie Iphone is still showing as open order.

Any chance you could also check SR 1-281540938503 activated on line on the 20/09, received email on the 21/09 no updates since. Rang late Sunday 20/09 to see if any update, someone to call me Monday 22nd......

INT 1-282143187134.

Was told that Tech specialist would call me back with in 24 -48 hours, no call yet. Called again Tues night 23rd

 

INT 1-283525176798. No one can tell me when my phone will be activated...keep telling us Tech specialist will call? It will be 7 days tomorrow and still no activation or tech specialist call

Hi minileepee,

Usually activations go through quite quickly however can sometimes take up to 24 hours

If this time has passed, I'd recommend turning the device off, take the SIM card out, reinsert & switching back on

If you're bringing your number over from an existing provider, when their service goes to SOS, you'll find the activation will go through in 4 hours. 

Once this happens, try what I mentioned above

I have an iphone 6 and received a new nano sim card. I tried to activate online . No luck after 3 hours. Rang as instructed and told 24 hours. Have rung at least once a day since. I'm told it has been "escalated". It is now just over a full week since I tried to activate. Everyone is very polite but none knows why  and they keep telling me 3 to 5 days. I think my only hope is the ombudsman or another provider.
