Lost device help

Any help would be much appreciated. My husband left his brand new phone on top of the roof of car this afternoon and has driven 5km before realising. We’ve turned the town upside down looking without any luck. He has the Telstra app, but hadn’t activated anything to help find his device. Is Telstra able to trace his sim to give us a more exact location? There are mangroves off to the side of a beach, and a bit of rough terrain the other side of the road, so we are really hoping for a more precise location. Thanks for any help in advance!

One option, if he has an iPhone, he could locate it using the Find My functionality built in to iOS.

This can be accessed on another iPhone (using the Find My app) or on a computer.
