New phone no sim

I just received my new iphone. Telstra did not send it with a sim. My previous phone is a samsung also with telstra. Is it normal not to get a sim? I cannot get a reply by phone or the app from telstra.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: New phone no sim

You shouldn't need a new SIM and they are only routinely sent out for new services.

You can just take the SIM out of your Samsung and put it in your iPhone if it is already the correct size. Most SIMs are punch out cards these days, so if your Samsung was quite old and used a micro-SIM you should be able to push out the SIM to the nano-SIM size and insert it in your iPhone.

If not, you can go to a Telstra Store and they can swap it over for you in around 5 minutes.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Thankyou, it was pretty old. Telstra just told me they are having trouble sourcing sims
