Is it possible someone has been able to use my mobile number without my knowledge? Could my phone number have been used through one of my social media accounts (messenger, FaceBook, whatsapp etc) that has been hacked?

I received a return phone call from someone who says I have just called their number. He seemed adamant that I had called him but I have never called his number. This person did not want anything just to return my call. My phone is locked and has not left my sight. Thanks to anyone who can provide some insight.

Hackers can spoof phone number so that the call appears to originating from another phone. They don't need to hack your social media accounts to do this. There is not much you can do about it.
