close account?

I am tearing my hair out trying to get Telstra to close my account since the first week in January! Their inability to do what they say they will do beggars belief . They keep saying they have done so but I keep getting bills for services I have not used since January 3rd.

Each time I have called it has taken hours ... on hold, explaining everything from scratch,being nice tothe nice people an endof the line. I have had to lodge a request with the Ombudsman to get my home phone transferred to another carrier - (Finally done) but I keep getting new bills for the service even though 6 weeks ago they assured me the account was closed!

How do I contact Telstra to get them to REALLY close my account ? Each week I'm surprised they have any customers at all.
