Data plan and excess data
Hey guys I’m on the small data plan (40G/month) I need more data but cannot seem to upgrade without paying off my device which I cannot afford. As I have exceeded my data, it is apparently slowed though I haven’t noticed, am I being charged for extra data without knowing about it? I can’t find a clear answer online. Is it just slowed or am I gunna get slammed with 10$/G for the rest of the month? And is there a way to get a bigger data plan without paying out the device? Thank you!

Re: Data plan and excess data
Hi Loosecanoe, I appreciate the concern about the low plan allowance and any additional costs to keep using the service or switch to one of our current plans. If you're subscribed to an earlier plan then a change to the range at https://tel.st/9hp96 would mean the recontracting of the service - any remaining device repayments would be charged on your next bill. If you haven;t been able to make the change online, this can be followed up by our teams through the 'Get Help' section of the My Telstra app, https://tel.st/2w7fg. From there we can securely access your account and advise of the options available to increase your monthly data allowance..
