New account in joint names?

Answered

A variation on a question already asked in another thread:

I'm about to get a new mobile broadband service, but as both my partner and I will use it, we'd really like the bill to be in both names, just like a normal utility bill can be.  Is this possible with Telstra, or not (as suggested in the aforementioned thread)?

Many thanks,

David.

Re: New account in joint names?

Hi dvdhudson,

Telstra accounts with 10 digit account numbers are in one person's name, although you can have the other person as a Full Authority with the same access to make changes as the official account holder (who is legally responsible for the account) & you can also have the bill addressee sent to both names.

Hope this helps to answer your question

Thanks

Re: New account in joint names?

I'll add - for the benefit of others - that you should add another name at the time you sign up for a service.  According to Telstra's helpdesk, you can't add a name as Full Authority for a minimum of "six months to a year".  Wish I'd known that beforehand...
