Preferred Payment - Saved

I have a new credit card and I deleted the old one in Telstra for a couple of Pre Paid accounts and it does not allow me to enter the new card details - Its telling me I will be able to enter the new card details once I recharge. So what, I have to recharge now even with a lot of calls and data still to be used - Payments come out at the same day each month for the Pre Paid accounts.
