Wrong number

Hi, my colleague keeps getting texts and phone calls looking for someone else. Telstra has text him saying that they will disconnect the service if "Diane" doesn't pay the bill.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Wrong number

Your colleague should contact Telstra to find out what is going on. It may actually be a scam.

Re: Wrong number

Thanks! Yeah I'll mention that to him. We thought maybe that the number was a recycled number and was previously owned by this other person.

Re: Wrong number

Recycled number is always a possibility, but they normally don't get put back into circulation until long after they have been quarantined. I'd lean towards scam being the most likely

Re: Wrong number

Oh okay.. that's fair enough.. so probably pointing more towards a scam huh. Maybe we can somehow block the number?

Re: Wrong number

For a few days last week I was getting texts and voicemail messages from some "legal Services " person , not asking for anyone in particular, all with no caller ID. I just didn't answer them and they have gone away ! Cheers, Buzz.

Thanks Buzz! Hopefully they stop contacting him!
