For automatic setup go to File and then Add Account. Next enter your name, email address and password. Click Next. Outlook will automatically configure the settings for you and once that's done click Finish. Your account is now set up to use Telstra mail.
If automatic setup doesn't work, details will have to be added and manually. Go to File and then Add Account. Click on manual setup or additional server types and then click Next. Click on POP or IMAP and then click Next.
Put in all your details such as your user information, server information and logon information. Your server information can be found on the Telstra email support page
Now click on More Settings then Advanced. Wherever it says use the following type of encrypted connection select SSL. For incoming server IMAP use 993, for outgoing server smtp use 465.
This is to keep your email communication secure. Click on outgoing server tab and then select My outgoing serversmtp requires authentication and then click Ok. Your final step is to click Next.
After Outlook tests to settings press close and finish your account is now set up to use Telstra mail.
