Rural network appears to have been overwhelmed these holidays

Hi Victorians, has anyone else experienced vastly reduced or inadequate 4G speeds in their remote communities along with the influx of travelers? Here in Woodside Beach, on the 90 Mile, the population swelled from 100 to almost 1000 in the past month and the download speeds have become a crawl during the daytime and stop loading in the evening. Upload is fairly constant at 15Mbs. Seems as through the local network is overwhelmed. Anyone else? Any thoughts on how to remedy without an NBN dish?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

It's also happening in inner metropolitan areas... eg 12kms  from the CBD.

People are using increasing amounts of data.
