SMS from pc

I want to send sms messages from my pc.  There used to be a Telstra app but it's gone now.  I'm wondering if they've come up with anything new or if anyone knows of any other way.

I have googled and found a number of free sms from pc sites but on trying them I came up eventually with nothing.  For one reason or another they all failed.  The last one I tried looked the best but MS said it didn't have a trustworthy certificate and I'd be at risk of being hacked so I gave it a miss, too.

I see it is very common in the USA. Long list of carriers they can send messages to/from.

Why Australia doesn't have this I don't know... or perhaps it does?
