Strange web address for telstra

Have received SMS messages from telstra with links to "https://tel.st". The link takes you to telstra.com.au sites. The domain suffix ".st"  is for São Tomé and Príncipe. Have even seen this link in the crowd support posts. Can anyone explain as I've assumed these messages are scams.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

No. They are real. Telstra uses the tel.st domain for shortened addresses.

Nice of Telstra to let us know. Wonder how many people have just deleted these messages on the same suspicions I had?

They have been using that domain for quite a few years now.

I've just watched the news about Telstra looks like I was right about the scam just didn't know Telstra was in on it.
