Leaving a multi device plan

My dad's mobile and tablet are on my sister's plan (one plan covering her and my dad - I think the data allowance is shared between them). He pays a set amount to my sister, but only she receives the bills, usage, etc so he doesn't know how much of the total bill he's paying or how much data he's using. Dad wants to get his own plan so he can see usage, manage costs, etc. Can he just take out his own separate plan? Does my sister need to be involved (this would be difficult)?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Leaving a multi device plan

Yes, he can take out his own plan.

If the current plan is in your sister's name, then in order to keep his existing number, you would need to submit a change of ownership form that your sister would also need to sign.

If he has the My Telstra app on his mobile, then he would be able to see the usage of his own device.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

My Telstra

Keep tabs on your estimated usage with the My Telstra app.
