Re: When will ext antenna models be available

Do you mean models of phones where an antenna can be directly plugged into a handset?
Those days appear to have gone completely.

The modern method of connecting a phone to an external antenna is to either use an induction pad that you sit the phone on (best for using with speakerphone or headset), or by using an external transceiver unit such as the Cel-Fi offerings that Telstra resells under their own branding.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: When will ext antenna models be available

I'm also looking for a phone with ext. antenna port. Telstra did have a rugged model with this feature, but it appears to no longer be available (a shame). A question to telstra support about this went unanswered.

I once had a Nokia that connected to external antenna with induction pad. Basically useless.

Last phone I had with a patch lead port was a Samsung C5220 flip phone, it worked wonders connected to a yagi antenna or even a vertical, and I really wish I still had it!!!
