Foxtel iQ set-top unit with Pioneer DVD recorder

Answered

I am proposing to install a Samsung Smart TV, which has HDMI and USB tpye connenctions. My existing Foxtel set-top unit is fitted with Scart cables with RCA plug connections.

I wish to use an existing Pioneer DVD recorder wihch has RCA cable connections, which are currently connected to the existing set-top unit.

Foxtel technical support suggests fitting an iQ set-top unit which has HDMI cable connections.

I assume one of the HDMI connections on the iQ set-top unit will go to the TV.

The question I ask, how can I connect the iQ set-top unit to the Pioneer DVD recorder, which has RCA plug connections?

Hi Wagner,

The current Foxtel IQ and IQHD boxes feature both SCART and regular RCA outputs in addition to HDMI. I'm sure when you have the IQ box installed the technician will be happy to provide a HDMI cable for it as well as letting you keep your existing SCART-RCA connector.
