Foxtel iQ set top unit

Our set top box keeps dropping out . We turn it off and in- has all the blue circle lights and red lights  come up and then out and switches off . Then resets however still constantly drops out As a long term Telstra client I am surprised they do not offer a replacement /free upgrade  after a few years of use.
It’s been a recurring problem for a while .

That behaviour could be one of two things:

  1. The box is performing a software update (can restart a few times if it's a large update).
  2. It has developed a fault.

What type of connection are you on (satellite or cable)? Give 131999 a call and see if they can figure out which it is. The box may need replacing (which could be problematic if you are on cable as the iQ5 isn't available to Telstra customers yet).

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
