Why is my Platinum Plus Foxtel in a Telstra bundle $40 per month more than if I go direct to foxtel? I’ve called and you said you couldn’t help. Next step is I cancel.
BTW foxtel said just cancel and they will treat me as a new customer to get this discounted price.

If Foxtel told you that then they are breaking their own rules as you are supposed to not have any Foxtel service for at least 3 months.
New customer price and existing customer price with Foxtel or Telstra are identical (Foxtel sets the pricing).
By all means, cancel with Foxtel from Telstra, then sign up with Foxtel direct straight away. I'd be interested in knowing if they give you the new customer price. In 12 months it will revert to the higher pricing as the discount is only for 12 months.
