Free to air

We got a new IQ3box from Foxtel when we connected to NBN but now cannot get any free to air channels except SBS.

Foxtel is working ok. Can get all channels on a second TV and older box - Foxtel and free to air both good. Any assistance would be appreciated

Re: Free to air

Have you connected the IQ3 to a TV Arial?

Re: Free to air

Are you talking about the channels in the Foxtel list or the 'Live' TV? For the latter you need an antenna (aerial) connected..  for the ones in the Foxtel list you should be able to see them..  you might need to do a reset on the IQ3 (turn the power off for several minutes, then turn it back on) - there have been changes to some of the channels so they might need a refresh, which is done through Settings...

Re: Free to air

The IQ3 box is connected to the aerial through a splitter for the nbn and the Foxtel iq3 box. We are not using satellite dish. Aerial isn’t connected direct to the tv.

Re: Free to air

That isn't the TV antenna cable. The cable you are talking about is the NBN HFC cable (previously the Foxtel cable). Your internet and Foxtel are now delivered over that same cable (which is why there is a splitter there). That part is OK.

But the IQ3 has a separate TV antenna connection where a TV aerial can be plugged in to get the free to air 'terrestrial' TV signals from your local TV transmitters. You can take the aerial cable out of the TV and plug it into the IQ3 to get you 'normal' TV channels that way (you could put a splitter in that cable to feed both the IQ3 and the TV at the same time but that really just gives you two ways to watch the same thing...

So, I think your issue with the 'free to air' channels, is about the commercial TV channels, ABC, 7, 9, 10 and SBS that are available in the Foxtel channel list - is that correct? There have been some changes with those, so a re-scan of the channels and possibly an IQ3 reset might be required.
