Tv keeps dropping out and is only connected to foxtel

Hi. Our tv keeps dropping out/losing signal for a second or two. It is very annoying when watching tv shows or movies and it drops out numerous times. Thought it might have been the internet but when I turned modem and nbn it still keeps happening. Our tv is only connected to Foxtel not the house aerial. What is causing and who should we contact to help fix this?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Is Foxtel connected to the internet? By cable or Wi-Fi?

Have you tried a different HDMI port on the TV? Or a different HDMI cable?

If you go into Foxtel settings, can you see what the current firmware is?

The most likely cause is the HDMI cable. Try disconnecting it at both ends and reconnecting it. If that doesn't fix it, try a different HDMI cable.

If it was a problem with the Foxtel Box, the picture would normally remain and it would take a few seconds for it to rebuffer.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Thanks Stevo 52.  Turns out my HDMI cable was a little loose.

Thanks Jupiter, you are correct, it was a loose cable.  All good now 🙂
