People don't hear anything to indicate that my phone is ringing

When some people call, they tell me that they don't hear any indicator that the phone is ringing. I hear the ringtone, but they hear nothing until I pick up. Any ideas? Tested from my wife's phone and she hears a ringtone.

Are you on the NBN? If on NBN it might be a faulty modem. You could try turning power off modem and then back on. If this doesn't work try factory resetting modem.
