Re: Google home mini connection problems

Have you tried disabling band steering in the modem? To disable band steering open a web browser and go to http://192.168.0.1, password is Telstra. Go to the 2.4 GHz WiFi settings remove tick next to band steering and save settings. This will add -5G to the name of the modem's 5 GHz WiFi. The 2.4 GHz WiFi name remains the same.

Re: Google home mini connection problems

Hi I have tried doing that and tried to connect to both networks but still it tries to connect in the home app but then comes up with something like ' unable to connect' , it honestly shouldn't be this hard

Re: Google home mini connection problems

You could try disabling Protected Management Frames (Wi-Fi PMF) in the modem's advanced WiFi settings.

Telstra Smart Modem

Plug in and connect in minutes. Smart.
