I have bought Phillips smart LED lights, and I am trying to connect it to my phone through my wifi, but it is not connecting. The box says it only connects to 2.4ghz wifi, but my Telstra gen 2 smart modem isn't letting me do so.
Is there a way to change the setting from 5ghz to 2.4ghz?

You need to log in to your modem and turn off Band Steering. This will separate the WiFi in to individual 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks (rather than the current combined wifi network that you have now).

@cf4 created an unofficial manual, which is located here. It should help you with all your modem queries.

To log into the modem open a web browser connected to modem and go to http://192.168.0.1, password is Telstra. To turn of band steering go to WiFi and remove tick next to band steering in the 2.4 GHz settings.

Try turning smart modem off for a few minutes and then turn it back on.

What device are you trying to log into the modem on.
When you go to http://192.168.0.1/ what error message do you get.

Re: Need to access 2.4ghz wifi- telstra gen 2 smart modem
There are two different Gen 2 modems. One made by Arcadyan and the other by Technicolor. (See image below). Both of those use the same IP address http://192.168.0.1 so the log in page of modem should open in your browser if you are connected to modem.
Have you tried on a PC connected to the modems LAN port?

It might need a factory reset. That usually fixes my mother in laws when that happens.
