Hey guys
I’ve just recently brought a locator device outright! I need to set it up but Telstra are saying they can’t connect it because I need to sign a contract to be able to get the device in the first place! I’ve already brought the device on the Telstra website and want to connect it to my phone or home wifi can this be done so I don’t have to sign a contract? Thanks

It sounds like you purchased the Locator Wi-Fi Tag from the accessory store @ https://accessories.telstra.com.au/telstra-locator.
You do need to also sign up to the Telstra Locator Subscription, as you must have an active Telstra Locator Subscription to use Telstra Locator Tags.
You can find all the information at https://www.telstra.com.au/location-of-things/telstra-locator#started
You don't need to sign up to a 12 or 24 month contract as the Telstra Locator Subscription is a month-to-month subscription you can cancel at any time. To take up a subscription, you need a Telstra post-paid mobile service.

Unfortunately Telstra Locator still requires a subscription to work
