I have a Telstra Smart Modem.
Lights are:
Online = green = OK
WAN/DSL = green = OK
Mobile mode = off
Mobile signal = orange = OK reception, but not the best
Phone = green = OK
Questions
1. What does the "Mobile mode" mean?
2. What happens if it's off
3. What does it mean when its on (green)?
Why isn't this info easily accessible anywhere?

When Mobile Mode is On, it means that it is using the 4G(LTE) backup as the Landline Braodband connection (WAN/DSL) will be off. Under normal operating conditions Mobile Mode should be off.
You can see what the lights mean here.
