23-02-2021 Telstra Velocity Outage - Point Cook
If anyone else is unfortunate enough to be a Telstra Velocity customer in Point Cook the Telstra outages site confirms that there is an outage and is projecting to have the issue fixed by 7p.m. on Tuesday March 2 2021. That's right - more than 7 days to fix a problem that started around 1130hrs today.
I went through the nausea of trying to communicate with one of the non-English speaking off-shore script-readers who simply proved that Telstra Velocity is the poor under-nourished **bleep** child that Telstra would like to be able to claim no relationship with.
They have no idea but also don't seem to feel that it is unrealistic to expect clients to accept that the fault could see their customers with inadequate services for more than a week.
Bottom line is that Telstra Velocity proves the case for telecommunications monopolies NOT being allowed - thanks to John Howard and the LNP they do exist and we the people have to suffer.

Re: 23-02-2021 Telstra Velocity Outage - Point Cook
Aaah, Point Cook. Possibly the worst planned suburb in Melbourne.
The NBN is a monopoly network too. If something goes wrong with that, you are stuck waiting for NBN Co to fix it. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
The Velocity network has also been sold off to another company.
If they have a ETA, it usually means that they have a reasonable idea of what the problem is. Sounds like it might be a case of waiting for parts &/or equipment to arrive.

Re: 23-02-2021 Telstra Velocity Outage - Point Cook
Spent more quality time on the phone today with those whose shoe sizes are larger than their IQ's and got nowhere.
Problem magically resolved some hours ago but the outages.telstra.com.au website (as of a few moments ago currently 1712hrs) still lists my service as interrupted with an expected fix time of 1900hrs March 2.
If these guys were anymore efficient they would no longer need to be instructed to breathe.
'Ours is not reason why...'

It may be listed in the outages page if they managed to apply a temporary fix to the problem. Don't be surprised is the quality of the service fluctuates over the next week.
