Broadband connection

I have applied for a new connection (address removed to protect your privacy) 
I had checked the area and it said online that I would get adsl2 .
Phoned customer support 3 tines different response from them.
I was told that my address needs verified although it was done tow or three times by customer services.
Is this is a problem because there is already an active connection or is it because they are unable to provide Internet the location is one of the main streets in the town and i cant imagine there would be an issue with connection please help

Firstly post private info on a public forum is rather silly..

I need to clarify.. Active service as in you have a current ADSL connection? Or just an active phone line?
