Broadband router recognition

It seems to be taking Telstra forever(>4 days - so I have zero connectivity) to activate my replacement router. I am being told that the account keeps trying to associate itself with the previous router MAC address. Surely this is a simple issue that has been faced many times? As a new Telstra customer who never had this issue with Optus this just seems crazy.

The sort of issue described requires specific access levels to resolve, and sounds like it has been assigned to the team with that access, and the delays quoted is to allow for their workload. In the interim, provided that your previous modem had some connectivity, then you should be able to reconnect the old modem.
