Broadband Speeds (ADSL, Cable, NBN and Velocity)

I have had broadband turbo cable plan with 50gb for long time. Recently moved to Henley Beach Adelaide and the connection has been terrible. I can not connect to wifi successfully as it drops out and stops whilst watching a video etc. I have connected an ethernet cable thinking it would be better, however still extremly slow. Technician has been out to visit and informs me I am on the slowest speed and this is the problem. I am paying $70 month for 50gb and running at 9.17mbps download and .26mbps upload. Surely telstra can do better than this? How do I increase my GB and speed withut having to pay lots of extra money. We have moblie and broadband and have been customers for 30 years. Help

Hi sheelaan, 

If 50GB is enough usage for you though, you can just increase your speed - a speed boost would provide speeds up to 100/2 Mbps and costs $20 per month.

on ADSL there is no magic fix to increase the speed.

 

Speed is mainly dependant on distance to the exchange and line quality
