Cable Internet Fault

I've had cable internet with foxtel for over two year, with no problems.

Last week, we got our first outage.  I checked online at  https://outages.telstra.com.au/ and confirmed that there was an outage, and the ETA to fix would be 10 hours or so.

In the evening the internet was working again.  However, for the next few days, the internet has been flaky.  This morning, again the network is down.  I've checked the outages site, but it claims that there are no issues.

I have done the usual restarts, re-checking cables etc.

The house has two wall plates, and foxtel is still working ok except for streaming which uses the internet.

I have  run through the troubleshooting steps all morning, with no luck.

I am on call now with Telstra, but wait is 30 minutes.

Any other ideas?

Re: Cable Internet Fault

We have had regular reports such as yours.

As NBN now own the ex-Telstra/Foxtel HFC cable, even though you have not been changed to NBN, it's common for NBN to be working on the cable in preparation, as NBN will be completed by this time next year.

So, the overwhelming cause will most probably be NBN in the background, though there still could be a Telstra issue.

If I have helped you, a "Like" would be appreciated.
