Cable Internet keeps running slow

Does anyone have any experience with tesltra cable, Modem: CG3100D-2?

 

Since i have had cable installed about 6 months ago, every one or two days the download speeds drop from 100mbs down to only 1 or 2mbs. The only way to fix it is to restart the modem and usually it reconnects and runs at the correct speed.

 

However for the last week or so it will drop down in speed and no matter how many times i reset the modem it keeps running at 1 or less mbs. Is there anything to be done other than having a technician called out (although i am hoping i can organise that)?

 

Here is my latest speed test, i find it odd that the ping is still low and the upload is fine at 2mbs, but the download is pathetic.

Have you contact Telstra/Bigpond technical support?

Assuming your service is not slowed/shaped they are honestly the best place to try.

One thing to ensure is that the device you are performing the speed test on is connected to the modem via an ethernet cable.
