Cable internet plan changes

I've just logged in to check our usage as our internet connection has had issues lately. 

On our last bill, our broadband plan is stated as being:
Telstra complete home saver 500gb and our cable connection speed is shown as "fast".

Upon logging in and checking my usage, i've noticed that our plan is now stated as being:
Telstra complete home saver 1000gb and our cable connection speed is now shown as "standard"

Is telstra allowed to slow our speed down without our approval?

I have tried talking to live chat and they keep having the technical support department call me, however I don't believe we need technical support, but account clarification.

What's your opinion?

Fast and Standard are the same speed plan (30/1)

 

Telstra are changing the name of their speed plans to align with ACCC requirements
