Can i use a 'mini modem' instead of joining NBN?

Answered

My daughter is about to move and she would have to pay for a 'new build' connection fee of $300. Is it feasible to use a 'mini portable modem' instead? She needs internet for her TV and also to do Zoom classes and upload and download dance videos, Thanks

The mini portable modem could be used (I assume you me a mobile broadband modem) but it will be very expensive if being used for Zoom , Streaming Video and downloading and uploading videos. All of these activities consume a lot of data which is expensive on a mobile internet service. In the long run it would be much cheaper to pay the $300 connection fee.
