This typically happens when your browser presents different proxy settings (or via a VPN) compared to what is set in the network settings of your computer.

The simple way to fix this is to clear your history, browser cache, cookies, and site specific passwords.
Also turn off proxying if you have it set.

No, that's not that... @pippo2you needs to use https://www.autotrader.com.au/
Seems that the one without ".au" is blocked for access from Australia.

It works fine on a TPG connection.

Re: Can't load website https://www.autotrader.com/

The error that it is giving you is generated by the server that autotrader.com resides on.
If you go to autotrader.com.au and get their contact details and send them a message, their team should be able to figure out why it doesn't like talking to some Telstra connections.

Re: Can't load website https://www.autotrader.com/

Thanks for the suggestions. I am not using a VPN. I have no proxy specified - "Automatically detect settings" is checked. This problem occurs on Chrome, IE and Edge. If I tether my Optus mobile to my computer, I don't get the error and the website loads as expected. Would appear to be an issue somewhere in the Telstra network.

Re: Can't load website https://www.autotrader.com/

Far be it from me to correct the telstra experts, but what you are seeing is a browser specific issue, I believe this to be Firefox specific, but could be wrong - you haven't specificied what browser you are using. As previously suggested clear your cache and cookies.

"Clear the Cache":

Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

IF YOU AREN'T RUNNING FIREFOX - let us know what browser and version you are running.

Re: Can't load website https://www.autotrader.com/

Another possibility - the autotrader.com firewalls/web servers (or possibly their "front end - something like AKAMAI, is seeing your IP address within the Telstra I Address Range and blocking it. TPG, Optus et al use different IP address ranges, so may not fall under the same rationale for blocking. This may have come about because autotrader US was seeing spam or hacking traffic from within the Telstra network, and blocked it for that reason. Some sites rely on external services to identify where compromised "bot" servers may be, so their perception that traffic from Telstra is a risk may be out of date.

a) contact the admins at autotrader.com - it will be at their end (or possibly akamai or similar that they broker a cdn (content distribution network through). yup, a ping of www.autotrader.com returns an akamai server, but if you contact akamai they will push back to autotrader.com as their client.
b) use a VPN
c) us3 a proxy (google free proxy servers. - there are heaps out there.
